M-TAB harnesses the purchasing power of low-income consumers by offering finance for energy efficient appliances that help households and small businesses save money. Through a mobile platform, M-TAB allows consumers to order an item such as a solar-powered lantern. Clients make installment payments through the mobile platform and also build credit histories. This application serves retailers, NGOs, governments, and low-income consumers.
Julius’ work in impact investing in Canada gave him experience implementing market-based solutions to affect social change. His work in microfinance in Kenya underscored the opportunity for development gains from greater financial inclusion. He is committed to applying his experiences from the for-profit and non-profit sectors to scale inclusive enterprises.
Most recently, Julius was the founding Manager of Social Finance at TD Bank Group, where he led the development of TD’s social finance and impact investing strategies and coordinated the launch of TD’s inaugural $500 million Green Bond. Julius also helped manage TD’s venture philanthropy and financial literacy initiatives.
Julius holds a Bachelor’s in Commerce from Trinity College of the University of Toronto. Julius is an MBA candidate at the Sloan School of Management.
