Bita Diomande

The Mastercard Foundation 2013 - 2015
Côte d'Ivoire
Employment Services
MBA, Sloan School of Management

Bita’s venture is an international talent sourcing service for companies in Africa, with a focus on recruiting the African diaspora living in Europe and North America. The business objective of the venture is to recruit African diaspora job seekers who want to return to the continent to participate in building a vibrant private sector. An initial pilot in Cote d’Ivoire is in progress with plans to expand throughout the continent.

As an Ivorian-American, Bita has always been very passionate about economic development in low-income countries. Prior to coming to Sloan, she founded a U.S.-based fashion company that sourced merchandise from small-scale artisans in Africa and Asia.

Previously, Bita worked in international development implementing public health projects in Cote d’Ivoire, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Ethiopia. Though she believes strongly in the international development and public health fields, she came to realize that her interest was more in directly providing job opportunities in low-income countries.

Bita holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Michigan. She is an MBA candidate at the Sloan School of Management.
