GreenPath Food raises the productivity of smallholder farmers, aggregates products and connects farmers to high-value markets. The organization offers training in sustainable agriculture techniques to smallholder farmers to significantly increase fruit and vegetable crop yields. GreenPath delivers services by establishing nucleus farms in rural communities. Facilities include cold storage, composting, and warehouses for storing seed and fertilizer, as well as harvested crops. Retailers that source from GreenPath are able to offer consumers nutritious and sustainably farmed produce.

While working in Ethiopia’s agricultural sector, Sid recognized the huge potential in the country’s smallholder farmers. With his belief in the power of markets, he sought to bring together the best of sustainable agricultural techniques, the capacity of Ethiopia to produce high value fruits and vegetables, and private sector retail chains.

Sid was most recently a Program Manager at Ethiopia’s Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA), which supports the country’s 70 million farmers. He spent two years working with new program teams and supporting the ATA’s CEO and senior management on organizational strategy. Previously, Sid was a McKinsey Global Institute Fellow in San Francisco, and a consultant at McKinsey in London focusing on the telecommunications, consumer goods, and infrastructure industries.

Sid holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from the London School of Economics. He is an MBA candidate at the Sloan School of Management, where he has served as the Co-President of the Sloan Entrepreneurship in International Development Club.
