- United States of America
- Sector:
- Real Estate
- Location:
- Morocco
- Degree:
- MBA, Sloan School of Management
Jalila’s venture brings transparency and efficiency to Morocco’s urban real estate markets by connecting property owners with tenants and buyers through an online exchange that facilitates direct communication and stores transaction data. This service benefits buyers and tenants in an industry in which only brokers have access to real estate transaction data. This information exchange reduces speculation in residential and commercial property markets, promotes pricing transparency, and attracts foreign investors. The business objectives are a transparent marketplace where buyers and renters can browse based on their desired criteria and execute real estate transactions directly with owners.
Since her father is from Morocco, Jalila has spent a considerable amount of time in the country in personal and professional capacities. Before graduate school, Jalila spent five years working with a female argan cooperative in Morocco and established Amal Oils, a brand of Moroccan natural skincare products for the US market.
Jalila has entrepreneurial experience in the consumer goods and food and beverage industries. She founded Amal Oils as a social venture that promotes prosperity in rural villages through the production and marketing of natural beauty products. Jalila also founded Restaurantware, a manufacturer and distributor of eco-conscious disposable tableware for the food and beverage industry. She pursues her venture capital and entrepreneurial interests as a member of .406 Venture Fellows and InSITE Fellows, and as the Co-President of the MIT Venture Capital & Private Equity Club.
Jalila holds a Bachelor’s in Entrepreneurship and Finance from Babson College. She is an MBA candidate at the Sloan School of Management.
