Education

Ejiofor Odo grew up in Nigeria, a country where it is expected that by 2020 more than 50% of the population will be less than 20 years old. There will be a great demand for good quality affordable education. With this in mind, Ejiofor hopes to present NaijaLearning, a secure, fast and highly interactive online web portal containing educational content for secondary school and pre-college students.

NaijaLearning will be a meeting place for students and teachers. Subscribers will be able to access educational content and find information pertaining to educational services, educational opportunities, as well as other learning environments. It will make quality educational content more accessible and ubiquitous, thereby providing parents and students alike with a variety of tools with which to help improve education.

Ejiofor also hopes to facilitate the provision of high-quality learning materials and resources at a relatively low price. He believes that a platform providing a conduit for quality learning materials and tools is absolutely essential and will be extremely useful in helping to meet the needs of a large swath of Nigerians who may not have access to expensive high-quality schools.

Ejiofor spent the last several years as a hardware engineer, mostly with the Graphics Development group at Intel Corporation working on power optimization for graphics processors. Prior to that, he worked at KMPG as a consulting analyst and at UAS Systems, a software startup. He graduated with a first-class honors degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Nigeria and is currently pursuing an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
