Dhruv’s venture, GenePrint Health, makes genetic diagnostic tests available to consumers in India. GenePrint Health is India’s only—and one of the world’s very first—providers of gene-directed supplement therapy. It offers tests for several genetic diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration, ABCA4, and Stargardt’s Disease, that assess the genetic propensity of a patient to contract the disease. Based on the results, GenePrint then provides non-invasive and affordable supplement treatments, tailored to the patient’s specific genetic makeup, that either prevent the onset or arrest the progression of the disease.
Dhruv grew up in India and has always been very passionate about making a positive contribution to the country. One of his ambitions is to improve access to preventive health care, particularly among low-income consumers. He sees in GenePrint an opportunity to improve public health by introducing genetic diagnostics in India.
After graduating from Carnegie Mellon, Dhruv moved to Singapore to work for Standard Chartered Bank. In 2014 he implemented his own venture in Mumbai, India. Over the last two years, Dhruv has been working full time on GenePrint Health, which now has collection centers in six different cities.
Dhruv holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Business and Physics from Carnegie Mellon. He has always been interested in the real-world application of cutting-edge technology. He is currently pursuing an MBA at the Sloan School of Management.
