Expanding Digital Health Innovation in Emerging Markets

On the next episode of the Inclusive Innovation Exchange, our collaboration with Resonance, three Legatum Fellows will share how they are expanding digital health services to meet consumer demand for healthcare in emerging markets. Moderator and author Deb Gordon, will help unpack key trends in consumer healthcare in three diverse settings, how innovative business models can expand access to health services, and the impacts of COVID-19 on digital health innovation.      

  • Moderator, Deb Gordon is an experienced healthcare leader focused on access for low- and moderate-income consumers. She is the author of The Health Care Consumer’s Manifestoan Aspen Institute Health Innovators Fellow, and an Eisenhower Fellow. 
  • Caitlin Dolkart is co-founder and CEO of Rescue.co in Nairobi, a digital health platform that quickly connects subscribers with emergency responders via a tracking and dispatch system. 
  • Sergio Medina founded RISE to more effectively distribute essential services to refugee children in East Africa. From his RiseLab in San Francisco, he is now building a solution to track COVID-19 inoculations and create digital health identities for vulnerable populations.
  • Dr. Mohamed Aburawi connects patients in underserved markets with cultural– and language-matched specialists via a telehealth platformSpeetarHe is a surgeon and researcher in Harvard Medical School’s Center of Engineering in Medicine.
