Mastercard Foundation 2021 - 2022
Foundry Fellow
From:
Nigeria
Sector:
Financial Services
Location:
United States of America

Opeyemi discovered his passion for entrepreneurship from an early age. He has since founded and grown three digital technology companies Whogohost, Jobberman, and Moneymie, in an effort to solve problems he experienced firsthand as a young entrepreneur. Whogohost – the number one web hosting company in West Africa – was born because of the lengthy process required to set up a domain name for a website. Today, Whogohost provides more than 50,000 small businesses with affordable website hosting that lets them reach more customers using the internet. Opeyemi founded Jobberman based on his own difficulties in securing an internship despite his technical skills. Jobberman is now the largest job website in Sub-Saharan Africa serving over 5 million users and helping more than 7000 people secure employment each month. His latest venture, Moneymie, is offering bespoke financial services for African migrants.

In collaboration with investors, corporations, and governments, Opeyemi aims to create structures and policies that facilitate shared prosperity locally and globally for Nigerians. He plans to leverage his experience in building successful job creation initiatives, building fintech solutions and leading diaspora relations to influence the growth of African entrepreneurial ecosystems.
