Eric Pignot is the founder of Enko Education, a fast-growing group of private international schools. Enko Education’s vision is to make quality international education affordable to primary and secondary learners in Africa, providing them with the best chances to get into top universities around the world. Enko schools are centred on their learners, for them to develop African roots, grow global wings and embrace their future. Enko became the largest group of schools in Africa teaching the International Baccalaureate Curriculum (IB), one of the most rigorous and recognized across the world. 4000 learners now learn in Enko Schools in 9 countries on the continent, and 600 Enko alumni study in 33 countries all over Africa and the world.

Eric derives his passion for Education in Africa from his time volunteering in Mali supporting local entrepreneurs. He then realized both the abundance of talent in Africa and the need for institutionalised educational models designed for the continent. As a management consultant advising a leading telecom player expanding on the continent, he became even more convinced that K12 education, just like mobile communications, could lead to an incredible transformation impacting millions of lives, provided that adequate technologies, management practices, and funding were combined.

A common opportunity in the 9 countries of operation of Enko Education is the vibrant youth willing to learn and change the world. When adequately educated and trained, this youth will enable all future entrepreneurial adventures impacting the continent.
