The enterprise promotes motorcycle safety by manufacturing a helmet that allows riders to see cars approaching their blind spots. Motorcycles are one of the most common modes of transportation, but also present more hazards to drivers and passengers than riding in cars. Motorcyclists in China’s cities are too often injured in collisions caused by distracted drivers, whom they cannot see. Yueh-Chu’s helmet diminishes the collision rate and meets increasing rider demand for an affordable helmet that also mitigates the risk of an accident.

Yueh-Chu grew up in Taiwan and is also a motorcyclist. Not only do cyclists want to stay out of the path of distracted drivers, accidents cause traffic delays. Preventable accidents and his background in biotechnology have inspired Yueh-Chu to design a helmet that gives riders eyes in the backs of their heads.

As the co-founder of a biotechnology equipment manufacturing company, Yueh-Chu has patented eight new products and expanded sales into more than 40 countries. The company generates $1 million in revenue annually. With this experience, Yueh-Chu plans to continue developing consumer products that are in demand and address widespread challenges.

Yueh-Chu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology with a minor in Economics, as well as a Master’s in Structural Biology, from National Tsing Hua University. Yueh-Chu is an MBA candidate at the Sloan School of Management.
