Sector:
Food & Beverage
Location:
China

Rishi’s enterprise sources high-grade loose-leaf teas from India, Nepal, and China for sale in the United States. Having studied the chemistry of tea and how the properties of various teas interact with the brain, Rishi is introducing teas that are delicious and healthful to US consumers.

Rishi is combining his passions for chemistry, tea, socioeconomic development, and Asian culture. He comes from a family of South Indian coffee farmers and has traveled extensively in India, Nepal, and China visiting tea farms. He is grateful for the tea growers who have introduced him to rare teas, and he wishes to share these teas with the Americas.

Previously, Rishi worked in management consulting in New York with an industry focus in life sciences and financial services. He was then awarded a Princeton in Asia Fellowship to work for a social enterprise in Cambodia. Most recently, Rishi worked in the venture capital investing sector in Cambodia and was motivated to build an enterprise of his own.

Rishi holds a Bachelor’s in Biology and Chemistry from Claremont McKenna College. He is an MBA candidate at the Sloan School of Management and a Master’s candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
