Julius’ enterprise leverages mobile technology to reduce barriers to real time information. The initial product, Saana, is a mobile-based real time reporting platform that delivers news events to subscribers based on their location. Saana ensures that individuals are aware of real time traffic, safety and security, and business developments in their neighborhoods.

Growing up in Nigeria, Julius noticed that people rely upon word-of-mouth to gather information about current traffic and safety information in their community, and the city at large. Saana solves the problem of relying on incomplete or inaccurate information. Julius has combined his love for technology and his desire to use it as a tool to capture the social, cultural, and economic trends of Nigeria’s neighborhoods and cities.

Previously, Julius worked as a quantitative analyst studying subscribers’ behaviors across various domains using data from mobile phone devices for Twitter and Facebook applications. He also has experience applying the same analysis techniques to understand economic activity in cities, cytokine networks in cancer, and collective group behavior on Twitter.

Julius holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham and Young University, with a focus on applied analytical techniques and biological systems. He has also worked with Engineers without Borders to promote environmental sustainability and economic development across Latin America and Africa. Julius is pursuing a Master’s in System Design and Management at the School of Engineering and the Sloan School of Management.
