Brian’s enterprise gathers used vegetable oil from Mexico City’s restaurants and food processing facilities and converts it to a biodiesel and glycerin fuel for use in diesel-powered engines. Customers for the venture’s product include Mexico City’s public transportation agencies, which use biodiesel to power buses, and industrial soap manufacturing companies. The venture reduces waste and air pollution, creates jobs, and provides a local energy source for Mexico City.

Brian grew up in Detroit, Michigan and understands the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in supporting local economic growth. He is blending his technical expertise in engineering and his business ambitions to build a model that demonstrates how innovation and the efficient use of local resources benefit businesses, consumers, and public agencies.

Brian’s 13-year career in the automotive industry covered manufacturing and product development. He also has experience in international product management and has scaled the production of patented products.

Brian holds a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. In his spare time, he serves as a product design and development consultant for a small start-up in San Francisco, CA. He is a candidate for a Master’s in System Design Management at the School of Engineering and the Sloan School of Management.
