Anatole’s venture, SXT (www.sxt.org.uk), focuses on matching patient needs with local Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH) services, enabling individuals diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection (STI) to anonymously inform sexual partners about their risk of the infection and linkage to care for partners and other key ‘at risk’ patients.

Anatole is keen to implement this proven tool in Sub-Saharan Africa where there are over two million HIV positive people not on treatment who are at risk of developing AIDS and have the potential to pass on the virus.  When a person is diagnosed with HIV, engaged with care, on treatment and undetectable then their risk of AIDS is negligible, and the risk of onward transmission is zero.  SXT can support the healthcare system to deliver higher quality care more effectively at a reduced cost.

When working as a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford, Anatole witnessed the peak of the AIDS epidemic in San Francisco and decided to read Medicine.  For the past decade, he has been working as an attending physician in London at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital delivering an integrated SRH service to 7000 patients a month and clinical director for the young person charity Brook. He is a Sloan Fellow at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
