Michael Chu, Senior Lecturer of the Harvard Business School Initiative on Social Enterprise and Managing Director of the IGNIA fund, possesses a wealth of expertise on microcredit, financial services, and social enterprise initiatives in emerging markets, particularly in Latin America. Professor Chu will discuss the power of microcredit in promoting entrepreneurship and bottom-up development for low-income populations.

Karim Khoja is CEO of Roshan, Afghanistan’s leading mobile phone company and winner of worldwide acclaim for promoting female employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. Khoja will speak about the challenges associated with bottom-up business development in war-torn Afghanistan and discuss the role of entrepreneurship as a catalyst for development.
