Dimin, Sean
Co-founder, Sea to Table
Based in Brooklyn, NY, Sean Dimin is co-founder of Sea to Table (www.sea2table.com), a business leader in the sustainable seafood movement.
On vacation in 1996, the Dimin family found their way to the remote village of Charlotteville on Tobago, a small island at the end of the West Indian archipelago. It was love at first sight with the vibrant traditional fishing community there.
In 2004 they returned building an infrastructure to connect these fishermen with chefs in NYC. Upon graduation from Brown University in 2006 Sean Dimin joined his family in evolving this concept by connecting fishermen throughout Alaska with chefs across America. He has since developed relationships with fishermen from the Gulf of Mexico, through the Carolinas, and New England, finding better markets for their catch.
Enabling small-scale sustainable wild fisheries with a transparent operating model of delivering directly from point of catch to point of consumption allows higher quality without higher cost. By directly connecting fishermen to the market, Sea to Table not only creates value for the chef, but value to fishermen, fisheries, and fishing cultures.
