Fernando Nilo is founder and CEO of RECYCLA Chile, the first electronic recycling social enterprise in Latin America achieving a triple bottom line of business viability, social impact, and environmental sustainability. Mr. Nilo is a Schwab Foundation Global Social Entrepreneur, with experience in social and environmental areas. He has been recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year (2007) by the Chilean Economic Development Agency (CORFO) and as a Technology Pioneer at the 2009 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. RECYCLA Chile received the “Energy Globe Award” in Prague in 2009; the AVONNI Award for “Innovations” in 2007; the “CSR Award SME” by PROhumana in 2006; and the national award for “Innovation in Environment” by PROCHILE in 2004. Mr. Nilo has participated in international economic forums including the 2008 Latin American World Economic Forum and the 2008 and 2009 World Economic Forums in Davos. His book, The New Trash of the 21st Century, was published in 2007.
